Choosing to Love (A)
For years 9 to 10
’Choosing to Love (A)’ is designed to facilitate the formation of healthy sexuality in young people, building on the ‘Toward Loving (B)’ module to expand students’ knowledge and understanding of human sexuality as appropriate for this age group.
The format of this module is a full day, in-school seminar where students engage with the subject matter in small groups, guided by a trained facilitator.
OBJECTIVES
- To encourage the choice of a lifestyle that integrates all aspects of Hauora (Emotional, Spiritual, Intellectual, Social and Physical).
- To communicate the Christian understanding of human sexuality and relationships.
- To encourage behaviour that is respectful of self and others.
- To challenge students to make choices that will enhance their happiness, health and well being.
