TOWARD LOVING (A)

For years 7 to 8

‘Toward Loving (A)’ is designed to encourage and resource parents, enabling them to share, instruct and talk with their children confidently

The format of this programme is as a facilitated evening session with parents/caregivers and children

 

Objectives

  • To support parents in their role as primary educators of their children
  • To communicate the Christian understanding of human sexuality and relationships
  • To educate students on how to healthily integrate all aspects of their Hauora (emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical and social)
  • To facilitate learning in an environment that encourages interaction and respect

    How to develop and build positive friendships for life
  • Session 7­ – Media/Technology
    The influence of the media
  • Session 8­ – Married Love
    Understanding marriage as a gift
  • Session 9­ – Loving Now
    How we can show love daily in our family

TOWARD LOVING (B)

For years 8 to 9

‘Toward Loving (B)’ is designed to encourage students to value the importance of family and healthy friendships, as a module that builds on ‘Toward Loving (A)’ to expand that knowledge and information, as appropriate for this age group.

The format of this programme is a full day, in-school seminar where students engage with the subject matter in small groups, guided by a trained facilitator

  • To communicate the Christian understanding of human sexuality and relationships
  • To educate students on how to healthily integrate all aspects of their Hauora (emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical and social)
  • To facilitate learning in an environment that encourages interaction, contribution and respect
